Being An Example to Others

I don’t think people set out to be an example for others. I’m talking about regular ordinary life. I’m not talking about parents, teachers, and pastors. Those folks know they are the people who should be the examples.

I think it is important for people to make a conscious decision to live a good life. There are opportunities all over the world to be vicious, to be a social climber, to be a backstabber. I think people may just fall into those situations. Who sets out to be contrary besides Republicans? It happens.

It takes fortitude to live a good life. Like an alcoholic who resists a drink every day of their life (it does get easier) a person determined to live a good life must make conscious choices every day of their life. It doesn’t just happen. You have to make it happen.

I think sharing is important. Also, living by example. Go volunteer your time. You don’t need to talk about it. People will notice because they are the ones who will look at how you are living your life and declare it to be good. You may never know that others admire you or emulate you.

Faith plays such an important part in all of this. You make your conscious decision to meditate, to think about the unknown, to reach for calm places. Others will notice.
