I was just thinking of history and how mine doesn’t stack up attractively alongside the success stories of other people. I did not stand out. I did not have that many friends. I was not popular.
How would you feel if you had 13 different jobs in 12 years? Would anybody hire you for a 14th job? Probably not. I sure wouldn’t.
When there are gaps in your employment history people always want to know, “Well, what were you doing?” Short of being locked up in the pokey or being a couch potato in your parent’s home anything is good. Just don’t lie. And even if you were in the pokey, you could find something good about it like you earned a college degree or helped train dogs for people who were disabled. If you were a self-proclaimed couch potato you’d need to do some fast talking to illustrate how you did the shopping, the housework, the gardening, and other stuff in which case you would no longer be a couch potato, but a household helper instead….
