Moving Toward Balance

In the larger scheme of things, perhaps being successful as a writer or as a YouTube creator pales before the idea of consistency. I only say that because I am neither successful as a writer nor as a YouTube creator, and I’m just trying to look on the bright side of things. However, if there is one thing I can do if I set my mind to it, it is consistency.
In the old days, I would go to confession on Friday, be absolved of my sins, cautioned to sin no more, and say an Our Father and/or a couple of Hail Mary’s. Life was simple then. Also, I used to make up sins just to keep it interesting. My life was essentially boring at nine years old.
Now, I measure what I say against how it makes another person feel. I don’t want to be a rock-it person, just a shock-it person. There are too many folks out there already doing that kind of stuff. It gets tiring. How many more ladies do I need to watch a YouTube commercial saying, “It’s easy to make 3 million dollars overnight.” I used to buy into that stuff. Not all that recently, to be truthful, but I do remember saving up my allowance for a pair of sauna pants when I was about twelve years old. They actually work, but the next time you drink a glass of water you get rehydrated, and all your flabby parts appear quicker than you can say, “Bob’s your uncle”. It’s funny because Bob is my uncle.
