Short Plans vs Long Plans

It’s amazing to think how important the planning of something is. One person might call it daydreaming, and another might call it planning. I was just now watching a video of a lady, Patti Best, who is talking about what she’s doing with the soil where she’s going to harvest flowers next year. I’ll put a link to the video at the end of this video. As she is walking along the raised flower beds, she’s talking about what she has done and what still needs to be done. She intends to have living walkways between the rows. Additionally, she is reading up on the best things to do to improve the soil.
Now, I’m not going to go out to create a garden. If anything, whatever I grow would be in pots on my porch, but I like this lady. I’ve been following the family for years. She’s older, like I am, and she’s an artist like I am sometimes. She is a kind soul, and I like listening to her. She is a link to what I consider the good stuff.
The process of planning, though, is important to me. I like to see an idea come to life and spend time working with it. Like I would a loaf of bread. In my baking career I am at the point where I enjoy thinking, “What if I added some boiled-up wheat berries?” or “What would happen if I substituted water for milk since I don’t have any milk…
