How To Get Readers

I have been trying to think of ways to attract people to my writing. The thing is you’ve got two types of people.
Those who read and those who won’t.
I am not concerned with people who can’t read. I’m talking about people who can read but won’t read. Maybe the instructions that come with their television, vacuum, or microwave, but that’s about it. If they venture into social media territory, they might go to Facebook, TikTok, or someplace like that. I post on Facebook occasionally, but those pieces don’t go much longer than 150 or 200 words.
In the last year, I’ve been setting challenges for myself. One, I call the Do-Good File. The idea is to write something every day that has an upbeat quality to it. It is in some way motivational. The idea was to get me out of a pissy or mopey mood. This document is personal and for my eyes only. It’s just a tool to help me with my attitude.
The challenge started in January 2025 as something to amuse myself, which might also be fodder for a future book. Who knows where this stuff goes? In the four months or so that I’ve kept this document, I don’t always write every day, but some of the entries are good for a Facebook post here or there. In turn, I could take one of the ideas…
