I am reading “Secrets in the Cottage,” a Rosemary Mountain Mystery Book One by Nicole Gardner. It was one of those free Kindle books I found out about from my daily foray into whatever discount and free books Weberbooks.com has come up with from Amazon. Over the years, I have amassed a huge collection of books waiting for me to read. I was at loose ends yesterday, and this one caught my eye.

I know it’s going to be a good one. Already, there is a domineering mother who is trying to insert herself into her daughter’s life. The father has just died, and the daughter has inherited everything. The man and lady were divorced years before, but here she is, taking a deep breath, like a battleship ready to set sail around the world and gearing up to boss her daughter around. The daughter isn’t having it. I’m only through the first chapter, but that all really caught my attention.

The problem, as I have experienced it, is you cannot ignore the battleships of the world. You need to sink them which involves a lot of energy. Hence, my interest.
