I Hit The Wrong Key

Normally, I write a story in Word before I publish it on Medium. The root structure of the story has been developed. The stem is strong and curious. The leaves have begun to unfurl. All is right with the world.
Today will be a little different. I don’t know what I was aiming for, but it wasn’t the Write a New Story button. Any other day, I would have said, “Whoops” and gone back to Word, or if I remembered where my fingers were trying to take me on the keyboard before I stayed where the button took me.
I decided to stay right here and write. This is the beginning of my day. Checking my stats at Medium is something I do every morning as I sit down at my desk. I was surprised that I had four new followers in one day. I also passed the $1 mark on the scale, so that’s interesting. I might actually get a check from Medium in five months or so.
I do have something interesting to report. This month, in May, I’ve already written a lot. There were three days when the total word count for each day was over 5,000 words. The next day after each astounding accomplishment, I couldn’t write crap. It just wore me out. I remember on two of those days, I was writing well into the evening.
